Conventions Of A Magazine Advert for an Album release

Magazine adverts have the following conventions in regards to a new album release, as they aim to identify the style and genre of the artist or band by which their fans recognise them.

- First and foremost, the magazine advert should have the title of the artist or band in a large, noticeable font, along with the name of the album and it's release date (IN STORES -/-/-) .
- Magazine adverts also usually acknowledge songs off of these albums that have been released as singles and are therefore recognisable by the general public (i.e. 'Featuring...')
- The form of release is also included (CD, Download, Vinyl)
- A Photograph or album artwork as the main image and focus of the poster

- The record company (label) of the Artist/band:

Three major record labels are, Sony music, Warner music Group, and universal Music Group. (logos above and right)

- The Artists/Bands website, including myspace/facebook

- Where to purchase the album (itunes etc)

- Critical quotes and ratings. Usually from well known newspapers and magazines.
- Album cover or digipak taking up a small section of the poster
